Behind The Scenes At A Deadly Photo Shoot

Even in the early hours of a Sunday morning, the Deadly is the female team is able to ooze glamour and class.  On Sunday the 15th of April, our resident photographer, Kevin Mitchell, turned the shop floor into a professional photographic studio in preparation for the most recent photo shoot for the Deadly is the Female website.

Trying out a new light which picks up a lot of intricate detail, Kevin charged into action, taking over 600 shots!

Deadly is the Female's owner Claudia with a rather dashing Gogo Gomez and photographer Kevin Mitchell

After a little coaching from 'male model' Kevin, the Deadly models Sarah Wingrove, Hannah-Jo Pierce and Lily Knibbs rocked their poses and strutted their stuff.
Many new items were photographed, (which will be coming to the website soon) and some of them caused a bit of a stir amongst the girls, like the red and white polka dot 'Glamour' Dress, modelled here by Hannah and the beautiful coral 'Miranda' Dress modelled by Sarah.
And the stunning 'Dita Dress' modelled here by Lily.  The Dita Dress was named after the Burlesque beauty Dita Von Tease, as she was seen wearing it recently.  We think Lily models it just as well as Dita, what do you think?
The styling premise for the shoot was 'Big Hair' and red lips and our resident hair and makeup artist, Lolita Noir certainly delivered that with Lily's reto Beehive and Sarah's exaggerated quiff.

Lipstick and Powder were from the long-lasting Besame range which certainly kept to their promise.  The 'Besame Red' and 'Redhot red' lipsticks only had to be reapplied once, and that was after the models had eaten!  They really are long lasting lip wear.
One of the models remarked that it was just like ‘playing a big game of dress up’ and was having so much fun with the deadly team that it didn’t matter that it was early on a Sunday morning!

Here are a few more shots from the day:

Introducing Hannah Jo-Perry, our model virgin our new line of Wedding style dresses, this one is the 'Grace' dress.  You wouldn't know from this photo that this was her first time in front of the camera!
Claudia Zipping Lily up in the stunning 'Tempest' dress. Lily is another newbie to Deadly is the Female but has modelled previously.
Sarah, Pretty in pink modelling the 'Corset Tee' and 'pink chiffon scarf'
Sarah and Gogo having cuddles

Deadly's Photo Competiton top 10!

Our Photo Competition is now closed and we have been blown away with the quality and quantities of photos submitted. We really took our time looking at each and every entry and this is eventually what we narrowed it down to - our top 10!

In at 10 we have Dan's girlfriend! Dan entered this photo without telling his girlfriend - how romantic is that?!
We don't know her name but we think she looks adorable in her Black Mad Men Swing dress & Elsie shoes (both no longer available) and red accessories.

At number 9 we have George in her Red Doris Shirt. We just love this photo - it's such good fun!

8th in our photo competition is a photo Louise submitted of her friend in her black Alika dress. We love the vintage feel to this photo and she looks so serene!

In 7th place we have Jayne who looks like she is having a ball in her Mad Men Swing Dress and Pink Petticoat.

6th is Frances in her Red Heidi Dress worn with a Petticoat and accessories with fallen angel accessories! Sadly we no longer stock the red Heidi dresses but we are hoping to have the cherry print version back in stock soon!

There is no 5th place as we have a tie for 4th and funnily enough, both these beautiful ladies are wearing the Clara dress by Stop Staring!

This is Sonja in hers - we love how effortless this looks and the red accessories to add a splash more colour.

Fran's photo has a whole other feel to it - we love the black and white - it complements her femme fatale look!

In 3rd we have Tori wearing a Marilyn Snow Leopard Cardigan with her Pin Up Pencil Skirt. We love the way the 50's style stars frame the picture and how she's put the outfit together.

In 2nd place we have Jaz in her Bernie Dexter Frenchie dress and 50s style petticoat. We love the vintage feel to this photo and the accessories. If you know us or follow us through any social media you'll know we are dog mad so we love that she has included Teddy Edward!

And the Winner is... Samantha in her Magenta Honey Dress and Red Petticoat

This shot really stood out for us - everything about it works so well. We love the pink and red with Samantha's fantastic red hair - and what a 'do it is!

So there you have it - we hope you've enjoyed this competition as much as we have. It was such a tough choice and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who sent a photo in!

If you would like to see more entries you can see them all on the Deadly Facebook page - the best way is to change the option from 'Highlights' to 'Posts by Others'

Ordering & Shipping at Deadly is the Female

First of all, let me start by saying, I can't believe we haven't blogged for such a long time - SO naughty! We have been busy social networking though, so if you miss us make sure you check out our Facebook and Twitter pages!

The first bit of news we have is that you can now select FREE SHIPPING on all UK orders over £150! The website will automatically let you know when free shipping is available - you just need to select the free shipping option when checking out. That's it!

The Free Shipping option is at Step 1 of the checkout, make sure it is selected and continue to check out. You can go review it at Step 2 when selecting your payment options. Once you have paid we cannot apply the free shipping offer if this wasn't done so  please make sure you claim it!

You can see all our shipping info including our returns policy here.

In much less exciting news we have tightened our security for people wishing to pay by card.

When ordering with a credit or debit card you will need to make sure the security code is entered correctly and that the billing address for the card is correct. This just means that we know the card really is yours.

If these do not match, your order will not go through.

While we know entering this info can be boring, we want to make using a stolen card on our website as difficult as possible. We take our and your security very seriously.

You can still choose to have a different shipping address, which is particularly handy if you are usually out when deliveries are usually made!

If you are having trouble placing your order you can e mail us at info@DeadlyistheFemale.com or call us on 01373 469914 Tuesday - Saturday from 10.30 - 4.30 and we will do everything we can to help.

We promise our next blog will be about more fun things - we have a photo shoot this weekend so I'll make sure there are some behind the scenes photos & gossip!

In the mean time here is an amusing out take from our last shoot with the stunning Daisy and our very own GoGo Gomez...

Yep - we don't know what he is doing either, but he's on just 1 leg and it makes us smile...
